U.S. Department of Education Earns D FITARA Score

The US Department of Education fails to implement FITARA and earns a F score. FITARA Score is a a scoring system used to grade federal agencies on the percentage of planned savings in comparison to those achieved for spending on information technology (IT). IT Portfolio Review Savings – each agency’s total portfolio savings divided by its total IT budget. The result is compared to the leading agency’s ratio. For the purposes of this website however, more emphasis is placed upon the assessment of the Department of Education’s risk management, incremental software development, CIO reporting structure, as examples.
